It has been a busy spring so far at the ACORN office, and we have another hire to report: in May, Melanie Jellett joined the ACORN staff as the Office Manager. Mel brings more than 10 years experience working with non-profits in various capacities and on various projects related to food systems, agriculture and environmental education.

Originally from the Gaspé, Québec, Mel moved to Sackville 7 years ago to complete an undergraduate degree at Mount Allison University. She coincidentally fell in love with the place and with Graeme, a carpenter, who also happens to be an aspiring farmer. In May, Mel completed her Masters of Science in Environmental Science degree, and was happy to join the ACORN staff in a new position established this year. With an increasingly busy office and growing staff, Mel in her role as Office Manager, will be an integral part of ACORN, assisting project delivery and providing personnel support.

If you have general inquiries about ACORN, Mel can be reached at or call the office 1-866-32-ACORN (2 2676).
